What a wonderful place. Prices were very fair and the staff was so helpful. It's very big but there are plenty of places to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere or chat with other shoppers. I am not sure what was more enjoyable sharing tips with other customers or wandering around. I will definitly drive the 189 miles there and place a big order for several trays of plants to resell on the other side of the state.im so glad I found this place for the plants I sell and the supplies to keep the gardens healthy. I was impressed by the dog friendly attitudes. They will definitly get my stores business.

Wow, this place is a rip off. I went in two weeks ago to buy some lady bugs for aphids. They did not have any. They sold me something they said is better, green lacewing eggs. I followed the directions and they never hatched. I called and was told to bring them in for a refund and that they will sell me some Insecticidal soap. I get there and they would only provide a 50% refund! A defective product and I only get 50% back? !!! The so-called manager said that was their policy. I replied ok, nobody told me about this policy and I look around the checkout area and there is no policy displayed. They then went and got the insecticidal soap. It was $55! I said that was a ridiculous price. All the while a line is building behind me and the manager kept pushing the lacewings at me saying have a good day sir. She said this three times and not saying anything else, very condescending and rude. I felt bad for holding up the other people behind me. One of them closest to the counter left the plants they were going to purchase and said I would want a full refund. I took the 50% refund, $17.77 for a $35 bag of bug eggs. I left. I found another nursery that had the ladybugs I originally wanted

This is the real deal. My favorite place to buy plants in the spring. They sprout them themselves not just resell stuff. This means you can get young plants in small container for cheap, ready to transplant in to your own pots and garden.

Love Alameda Greenhouse. They always have the tomato π plants I want. They are locally grown and do very good when planned. They also have a good variety of herbs and vegetables. I don't buy my plants anywhere else.

They sell native/drought hardy grass seeds by the lbs, in bins with a scoop like you see at some grocery stores, so you can choose the amount you get rather than buying a pre-bagged amount. I havent seen such a setup at any of our other local nurseries, so I thought that was cool. The place has a more compact/organized feel to it, which makes it easy to browse their selection in a timely fashion. Like every nursery here, there are certain species and plant varieties they carry that other places dont. It was very well stocked when I visited compared to the other nurseries I had been to that day. Also had some cute watering cans like a duck watering can and a fish watering can. And a watering can painted with a character from a webcomic I read, so that was quite a surprise to see!
